North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm November 6 to 6am December 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, carriageway closures, slip road closures and lane closures for carriageway resurfacing.

A19, from 8pm November 26 to 8am December 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, Lane closure for inspection works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

A19, from 8pm December 12 to 6am December 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth, slip road closures and lane closures for works off network.

A19, from 8pm December 19 to 6am December 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 clockwise Moor farm roundabout outer ring closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
