North Tyneside road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start this week:

A19, from 8pm February 25 to 6am February 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, Lane closure for inspection works.

A19, from 8pm February 26 to 6am March 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth to Dudley lane, carriageway closures for maintenance works.

A19, from 8pm March 4 to 8am March 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Killingworth to Holystone, Lane closure for inspection/survey on behalf of National Highways.

A19, from 8pm March 5 to 6am May 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Holystone Interchange, carriageway closures and lane closures for structural painting works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
