North Tyneside road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

North Tyneside's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm May 2 to 6am May 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Silverlink, lane closures for inspection/survey works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

A19, from 8pm May 22 to 6am May 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Holystone interchange, exit and entry slip road closures for horticultural works.

A19, from 8pm May 23 to 6am May 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Howdon interchange, entry slip road closures for horticultural works.

A19, from 8pm May 24 to 6am May 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Fisher Lane to Moor Farm, Lane closures for safety fence works.

A19, from 8pm May 25 to 6am May 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Moor farm to Killingworth, Lane closure for safety fence works.

A19, from 8pm May 31 to 6am June 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Holystone to Silver link, Lane closure for safety fence works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
