North Tyneside's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

North Tyneside's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A1, from 8pm June 27 to 6am July 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, - Kingston Park to Seaton Burn, Signage for plate festival.

A19, from 8pm July 2 to 6am November 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Moorfarm to Killingworth, carriageway closures and lane closures for resurfacing works.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

A19, from 8pm July 10 to 2am July 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Fisher Lane roundabout to Howdon, Lane closures for asset condition inspections.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
