Road closures: four for North Tyneside drivers this week

Drivers in and around North Tyneside will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around North Tyneside will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm February 21 to 6am May 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Killingworth, slip road closures for street lighting works.

A19, from 8pm December 6 2021 to 6am May 7 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Holystone, carriageway closures for structures work.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

A19, from 8pm April 20 to 6am June 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Seaton Burn to Howdon, mobile lane closure for inspection/survey works.

A19, from 8pm April 27 to 6am April 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, Holystone Interchange, Lane closure on exit slip road for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
