Food hygiene ratings given to two South Tyneside restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Star Of India, at 194-198 Ocean Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 27.

And Nook Caf8 Limited, at 191 Prince Edward Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given a score of four on March 29.

It means that of South Tyneside's 176 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 117 (66%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
