New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s pubs, bars or nightclubs, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The Colliery Tavern, at 2 Hedworth Lane, Boldon Colliery, Tyne & Wear was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 3.

And Incontri Kitchen, at The Kelly, Hedgeley Road, Hebburn, Tyne & Wear was given a score of three on July 3.

It means that of South Tyneside's 129 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 77 (60%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
