Food hygiene ratings handed to two South Tyneside restaurants

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

J & V's Bistro, at 3 Horsley Hill Square, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 11.

And Volare, at 2 St Bedes, East Boldon, Tyne & Wear was given a score of one on January 11.

It means that of South Tyneside's 185 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 121 (65%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
