New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Tasty Duck, at 533 Stanhope Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 18.

And Redragon 4619 Ltd, at 4 Burrow Street, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given a score of four on December 15.

It means that of South Tyneside's 145 takeaways with ratings, 68 (47%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
