Food hygiene ratings handed to two South Tyneside takeaways

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of South Tyneside’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Karl's Golden Fry, at 30 North Road, Boldon Colliery, Tyne & Wear was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 6.

And Mansa Takeaway, at 11b Bladen Street Industrial Estate, Bladen Street, Jarrow, Tyne & Wear was given a score of four on September 28.

It means that of South Tyneside's 140 takeaways with ratings, 68 (49%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
