Road closures: three for South Tyneside drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around South Tyneside will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around South Tyneside will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A19, from 8pm February 15 to 4pm February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 southbound, Boldon entry slip road closure for maintenance work.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A184, from 8pm February 20 to 6am February 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A184 Outer ring closure on roundabout and lane closures on approach and exit roads for electrical works.

A19, from 8pm February 22 to 6am February 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 northbound, A194 Lindisfarne to A185 Tyne Tunnel lane closure for maintenance work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
