Road closures: three for South Tyneside drivers this week

Drivers in and around South Tyneside will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures are due to start this week:

• A19, from 8pm August 23 to 6am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19/A194 Lindisfarne Interchange north and southbound, exit slip roads, slip road closures for emergency patching works Total TM for South Tyneside Council.

• A184, from 8pm August 24 to 6am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A184 eastbound and westbound, Testos to Whitemarepool, Lane closures for drainage works.

• A184, from 8pm August 24 to 6am August 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A184 Whitemere pool Round about Circular lane closure for vehicle safety fence repair.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
