A South Tyneside drinking establishment has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The New Green Baize Snooker Club, a pub, bar or nightclub at 1a Tyne Terrace, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on July 4, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 129 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 77 (60%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
