A South Tyneside drinking establishment has been handed a new three-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Beehive Inn, a pub, bar or nightclub at Mile End Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on September 27, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 130 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 77 (59%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
