A South Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

A South Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Spice Garden, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 202 Ocean Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on February 3, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 178 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 117 (66%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
