A South Tyneside restaurant has been handed a new three-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Bell Passi Italian Kitchen, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 70 Ocean Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on March 24, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 176 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 118 (67%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
