South Tyneside road closures: two for motorists to avoid this week

South Tyneside's motorists will have two road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A184, from 8pm May 16 to 6am October 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A19 northbound and southbound, Downhill Lane, carriageway closures and lane closures for interchange upgrades.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

• A19, from 8pm October 24 to 6am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 north and southbound, between A184 Testos and A194 Lindisfarne Interchange, diversion route for nearby closures by Hatton TM.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
