A South Tyneside takeaway has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Spice Station, a takeaway at 149-151 Prince Edward Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the maximum score after assessment on November 15, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 144 takeaways with ratings, 67 (47%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
