A South Tyneside takeaway has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The China Cook, a takeaway at 67a Canterbury Street, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on May 11, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 148 takeaways with ratings, 66 (45%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
