A South Tyneside takeaway has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Hebburn Takeaway, a takeaway at 23 Birtwhistle Avenue, Hebburn, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on December 20, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 145 takeaways with ratings, 68 (47%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
