A South Tyneside takeaway has been handed a new two-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

New Deli, a takeaway at 70-72 New Green Street, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on March 13, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 140 takeaways with ratings, 67 (48%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
