A South Tyneside takeaway has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Peking Paradise, a takeaway at Unit 1, 5 Frederick Street, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on May 24, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 149 takeaways with ratings, 68 (46%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
