A South Tyneside takeaway has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Gallo Nero, a takeaway at 4 Chichester Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear was given the score after assessment on October 20, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of South Tyneside's 145 takeaways with ratings, 67 (46%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
