Hide AdMoura is out of contract in 2023, and the Magpies are said to have attempted to pull off a deal, only to be rejected by Tottenham.
Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Newcastle wanted Lucas Moura as they approached Tottenham during Deadline Day, same for Aston Villa. Spurs decided to keep the player, never been advanced.
“Lucas future remains open as he’s out of contract in June 2023 and there are chances for a free move. “
Broja blow
Newcastle were said to have expressed an interest in Chelsea star Armando Broja this summer, but they could not pull off a deal.

That’s because Broja has signed a new six-year contract with Chelsea, evidentally set to play a big part of the future at Stamford Bridge.
Howe delight
Eddie Howe says he is delighted that Matty Longstaff has joined Colchester United on loan.
“For Matty and the stage he’s at in his career, I think he needed to play,” said Howe.
“He shared that need as well, and we’re delighted he’s gone to get games – and hopefully he’ll prove what a good player he is.”
