How long are pupils back at school after the half term?

Following on from schools being closed on Thursday 2 June and Friday 3 June for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, classrooms will be open again as normal from today (Monday 6 June).

Pupils will return to the classroom for just over six weeks before the summer term will end, and schools will close for the summer break.

Schools across Newcastle will close for the summer holidays on Friday 22 July 2022.

North Tyneside

Schools will close in North Tyneside for the six week break on Thursday 21 September.

Gateshead

Schools across Gateshead will close for the summer holidays on Friday 22 July 2022.

When is the next bank holiday?

The next bank holiday will be on 1 August which is known as the summer bank holiday.

However, this won’t make a difference to students in Newcastle as they will already be on their summer break.
