Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 21 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.

17. Missy (Labrador Cross)
Missy is a very sweet and friendly girl who is always pleased to see both people and other dogs! She is a sociable lady, nobody is a stranger to Missy – she will happily say hello to everyone she meets. She absolutely loves getting out and about on her walks – she is happiest when out exploring! She will need an active home who are able to provide her with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

18. Edna (Cane Corso)
Edna is a beautiful young pup who clearly hasn’t had the best start in life. Edna was found as a stray with a significant injury requiring her leg to be amputated. Edna was initially quite nervous, and still can be when meeting new people, but is very quickly won around and once she is your friend she rolls round for belly rubs and will give your hand a little nudge to remind you she needs lots of your attention! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

19. Blueberry (Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross)
Blueberry is a very scared, nervous and timid young lady, in fact, she is one of the most shut down dogs that has walked through the shelter's doors. From the moment she arrived, she just wanted to hide away and not even be looked at; heart-breaking to witness. Blueberry has come a long way during her time in the shelter, but still has a long way to go. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

20. Voodoo
Voodoo is a chap with a huge personality! He was not a happy lad when he arrived at the shelter, known to be a scared, grumbly boy who lashes out when feeling scared or annoyed. Voodoo has been on foster with a foster family and is doing much better now that he’s in a home environment. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
