Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 21 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.
Take a look and see if you can open your heart and home to a new four-legged friend!

13. Moose
Moose is a sweet but shy little lady. She doesn’t cope well with change and can find noise and sudden movement quite worrying. She does spend a lot of time hiding away in the back of her pen, but is getting braver every day and does come out when our staff speak to her. Moose would be best suited to a calm and quiet adult-only home. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

14. Daz (Staffordshire Bull Terrier)
Daz is a typical, daft Staffie! He is full of beans and will need an active family who can keep up with him. A home with experience of the breed would be beneficial. Daz has been very excitable when meeting other dogs whilst in our care and has shown some undesirable behaviours, he needs a responsible family who are committed to continuing his training and careful socialisation to help him to learn how to manage his big feelings and behave more appropriately. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

15. Venus (French Bulldog)
Venus is the sweetest little lady who sadly arrived into care as a stray in a very bad state. Venus needed immediate veterinary care and a ton of TLC to get her comfortable. Venus has been seen by vets on many occasions, and also needed regular baths in a medicated shampoo – she has remained the best little patient and has taken it all in her stride! In wonderful news, Venus now seems to be thriving and is very much ready to begin her journey to a new home. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

16. Jojo
Jojo is a sweet little lady who has been quite shy since arriving here at the shelter. She has spent most of her time hiding away and been reluctant to interact with staff. Recently, with the time and patience of the dedicated team, she has been spending more time on her cat tree at the front of her pen and will now take treats from them. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
