Barbie rave to celebrate ‘plastic and pink’ heading to Newcastle

A Barbie themed rave is heading on a UK 2023 tour, and will of course arrive in Newcastle for an amazing perfectly pink night out in Newcastle along the way.

Created by Mattel in 1959, the fashion doll known as Barbie went on to become a worldwide phenomenon and is still creating new dolls and franchises to this day.

Barbie has been a multimedia franchise since the 1980s, with many spin-off movies, television shows and games released to the delight of Barbie fans.

However, the Barbie hype has been amped up once again, with trailers and promotional images recently released of the brand-new live action Barbie movie, which will arrive in UK cinemas on Friday, 21 July 2023.

The movie has a star-studded cast, including Margot Robbie in the lead role as Barbie, Ryan Gosling as Ken, with the likes of Will Ferrell, Ncuti Gatwa, Dua Lipa, Emma Mackey and many more in supporting roles.

From the same organisers who brought a Shrek themed rave to Newcastle, Like It Love It events have another nostalgic themed night up their sleeves coming very soon.

‘The Barbie Rave’ will be hosted by Barbie and Ken characters and according to the Like It Love It Facebook page, will feature girl power classics, Barbie visuals and decor, live performers, sing-a-longs, giveaways, themed cocktails and much more to be announced.

Like It Love It wrote: “Be a Barbie girl and join our Barbie world! Life here is plastic and DJs are fantastic!”

They also said that the dress code for the event is ‘strictly pink and plastic’.
