Brand-new bushtucker trial on I’m A Celeb inspired by North East landmark

Three celebrities will take part in the trial in tonight’s show

Ant and Dec announced on last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, that three celebrities will be taking part in a brand-new trial in tonight’s show.

The trial is named the Angel of Agony, and it is designed to look like the iconic North East landmark the Angel of the North, which is located in Gateshead.

Ant and Dec were both raised in Newcastle, before finding fame in their teens, after starring in Newcastle-based children’s TV show Byker Grove. The pair eventually moved to London in order to further their careers, but have never forgotten their roots as they reference Newcastle regularly.

After the announcement that the trial would need three celebrities, we saw Ant and Dec tell singer Boy George, radio presenter Chris Moyles and comedian Babatunde Aleshe that they had been voted as the celebrities to take part.

The celebrities were surprised that politician Matt Hancock had not been chosen for the new trial, after being voted by the public to undertake the past five bushtucker trials.

Tonight’s episode will be on at the later time of 9.15pm on ITV.
