Cheryl 2:22 A Ghost Story role replacement revealed as Eastenders actress

Geordie pop icon and TV personality, Cheryl Tweedy recently took her career into the direction of the theatre world, when she landed the role as Jenny in the hit play by Danny Robins, 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Cheryl has been performing in the role at the Lyric Theatre since January this year, and has been met with positive feedback from theatre critics and theatre-goers.

Cheryl’s stint in the theatre production will naturally come to and at the end of the month, with her final performances in the show on Sunday, April 23.

The 39-year-old former Girls Aloud member has been performing alongside Eastenders actor Jake Wood as Ben, as well as Louise Ford as Lauren and Scott Karim as Sam.

Now, a brand-new cast has been announced for when the current cast’s run comes to an end.

Taking over Cheryl’s role, which has previously been in the hands of the likes of Lily Allen and Laura Whitmore, is Jaime Winstone who has acted in many different film and television roles.

She previously acted in the BBC biopic Babs playing Dame Barbara Windsor. She also played a young Peggy Mitchell in Eastenders, the role that was acted by Dame Barbara Windsor herself.

Other actors confirmed in the line-up is American actress Sophia Bush who is most known for her role as Brooke in One Tree Hill, Clifford Samuel and Ricky Champ.

The theatre production will move to a new home, moving from the Lyric Theatre to the Apollo Theatre.
