Hilarious new Amar Dedic chant after 'bow and arrow' incident - Newcastle United supporters are the best

Newcastle United supporters have seen the funny side after Amar Dedic’s bow and arrow incident in midweek.

Amar Dedic appears to have endeared himself to the Newcastle United fan base following his crossbow incident last week.

A bizarre situation saw the Bosnian international at the centre of a police storm after being spotted with a bow and arrow in Northumberland. Multiple patrol vehicles stopped Dedic and a friend in Darras Hall, with Paul Dummett and Mark Gillespie passing by and acting as peacemakers.

Northumbria Police confirmed in a statement that the equipment had been confiscated and their enquiries are ongoing. Newcastle will not punish Dedic - who only arrived from Benfica in August - further for his mistake.

Newcastle United chant

It did not take long for supporters to make fun of the situation with a new terrace chant. To the tune of 1974 hit song "Magic" by Pilot, supporters sang: “He's Dedic you know, he's class with a bow and arrow.”

The new hymn could be heard belting from the Craven Cottage away end as Newcastle drew 1-1 with Fulham. Dedic himself joked about the incident 24 hours earlier, responding with a meme of Legolas from the Lord of the Rings to the official club Instagram account.

Matthias Jaissle on Amar Dedic

Matthias Jaissle played down Dedic’s naivety when speaking to reporters post-match. As one of his most trusted lieutenants, the German is wanting to move on swiftly while praising the performance.

"He played well, right?” Jaissle said. “It (the bow and arrow incident) didn’t affect him. He was not aware of the rules. We don’t need to make a big deal out of it."
