Little Pecan is only 3 months old and has already had quite a bit of an unsettled start, but our team are doing well teaching him the basic skills he'll need to settle in a new home. He'll be fine to live with older kids who are confident around bouncy dogs. Dogs Trust: 11 charming dogs and puppies looking for a forever home in the North East

Here are the dogs hoping for a forever home this week.

Dogs Trust currently has so many gorgeous pups up for adoption across the North and North East.

Darlington, Cumbria and Leeds rehoming centres are hoping to find lovely homes for their dogs in order to give them the best possible lives.

Eli is a FABULOUS 3yr old Lurcher who was originally found as a stray. We might not know anything about him from before her arrived, but he’s certainly stolen the hearts of everyone since! He’s super friendly with everyone and loves plenty of fuss and cuddles. He’s a big lad so young children won’t suit, but confident teenagers should be fine. He’s still working on his doggy socialising and making good progress, but he will need to be the only pet in his home for now. A secure garden will also be needed as he does enjoy his zoomies (it’s a Lurcher thing!!)

Edie a is delicious, squishy 4yr old Shar Pei who although worried by unfamiliar people, is the sweetest, most playful, and snuggly girl once she knows you. We are looking for a super special home for Edie due to her nervous character. Her home needs to be a calm and predictable environment with adults only and no visiting children. Very few visitors in general as she struggles with unknown people. She is worried by other dogs too so cannot share with any other pets. She will need you to be around all the time initially, not for constant attention as she likes to chill most of the time, but she just likes to know you're there. In time she will be ok to be left for periods on her own. She'll need a secure garden with 5ft fence, so she has somewhere to play and explore as she finds her feet.

Parsley is a real favourite with her handlers because she has come so far already. She’s proven herself to be a fun and playful girl who loves her toys. She’s super foody so this is perfect for continuing her training. Although she can’t live with a Cat, she has lots of doggy friends here and could potentially share her home with another playful dog pending them meeting and getting along. Parsley’s perfect match will be very dedicated, patient and ready to work with us to slowly transition her into a new home life. We know she has the potential to grow into a confident little lady and just needs a chance.
