Here are the dogs hoping for a forever home across the North and North East.

Christmas is right around the corner so here are some of the Dogs Trust dogs searching for a home just in time.

The dogs are looking across the North and North East for a family from centres such as Darlington, Leeds and Cumbria.

But remember, a dog is forever and not just for Christmas.

Here are the 13 of the gorgeous pups in need of a home.

Lana is an absolute sweetheart, she is loving and playful. She is instantly friendly when she meets new people and walks over with a happy swagger to get a good fuss. She loves cuddles, leaning on you and standing by you for love and strokes We have found that she likes treats.. alot!! No particular favourite as of yet, just all treats are yummy! Using treats to positively reward her will be a great way to gain her trust and begin training. She would benefit from a secure garden, where she can have her zoomies and stretch her legs. Lana has been walking beautifully on a loose lead and is aware of where you walk. She has been walking in a high traffic passing area with no concerns, so feel that she would be comfortable living in a town, or built up area. Bella is an intelligent, fun, active Collie who will be the perfect companion for someone, she travels well in the car. She is a sociable dog, and would happily learn new activities with her adopters, due to her high energy we feel she’d be suited living with Children aged from 12 years + Bella would suit being the only dog in the home, as in foster she has nipped and herded the foster carers own dog. (breed typical collie behaviour) She would prefer to be out in the countryside as fast moving traffic has caused her some anxiety, leading to her barking at cars. She has begun training in her foster home and is enjoying this and responding well, she will need a collie knowledgeable and committed adopter to ensure she reaches her full potential (Dogs Trust Cumbria)

Playtime with her is amazing! She loves a good game of tug but her favourite is chase! She smashes her training every day as she’s super smart and loves learning. She likes to be with her human friends all the time so it will be a while before she can be slowly introduced to any alone time, but we’ll guide you through this. Her perfect match would be someone who is looking for a bit of a training project and will enjoy working with us to slowly transition her into the loving home she deserves.
