Dogs Trust: 13 gorgeous dogs and puppies looking for a forever home in the North East

Here are the dogs hoping for a forever home in 2024.

Dogs Trust currently has so many gorgeous pups up for adoption across the North and North East.

Darlington, Cumbria and Leeds rehoming centres are hoping to find lovely homes for their dogs in order to give them the best possible lives.

Here are just 13 of the dogs searching for a forever home in 2024.

Daisy is a fun 1-year-old girl who sadly lost one of her legs but this doesn't slow her down at all and is always ready for play time and zoomies. Flynn is a 13-year-old boy who is always up for play time with Daisy and playing with toys followed by having a nice comfy spot to lounge around in. They are such a loving pair who complement each other so well and will love nothing more than heading off home together.

5. Flynn (Lurcher Cross, 13 years)

Faith is a gorgeous 6-year-old ex-racing Greyhound. She is super friendly but can be bouncy and playful at times so young children would not be suitable, but teenagers would be fine. Due to her natural prey drive, she cannot live with any cats or small furry pets. Faith is fine out and about with dogs but would prefer not to share her home with other dogs. She will need her new adopters to be around all the time initially while she settles in as she struggles being left alone and will need work on her house training, she would benefit from a secure and enclosed garden for this.

Wendy is a fabulous energetic girl who will make a wonderful addition to your home. She will need to be the only dog in the home and would prefer to socialise when out with walking buddies. She can be bouncy and sometimes forgets that paws should be kept on floors, so would be better looking for a home with any children being over the age of 16 years. Wendy has been mostly clean in her placement and given lots of opportunities to get out to the garden and walks for toileting. Once settled into her new home should be good to be left alone for a few hours, this time alone will need building up in his new home to make it a positive experience for her, Enrichment toys/treats will help! Wendy was found straying and remained unclaimed at the pound. Wendy will need access to her own secure garden so she can zoom around and play with her favourite toys, or just go for a sniff around

Goldie is a beautiful 18-month-old Rottweiler who is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She should be fine with older teenagers who are comfortable around large, playful dogs. She is great with other dogs out and about but not keen on sharing so needs to be the only pet in her home. As you’d expect from her size, she is strong to walk. She likes to play off-lead so a secure, private garden is a must for her. She is very good on lead though so as long as you are strong enough to hold her, you’ll be fine!

8. Goldie (Rottweiler, one years)

Goldie is a beautiful 18-month-old Rottweiler who is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She should be fine with older teenagers who are comfortable around large, playful dogs. She is great with other dogs out and about but not keen on sharing so needs to be the only pet in her home. As you’d expect from her size, she is strong to walk.
