Christmas is right around the corner so here are some of the Dogs Trust dogs searching for a home just in time.
The dogs are looking across the North and North East for a family from centres such as Darlington, Leeds and Cumbria.
But remember, a dog is forever and not just for Christmas.

5. Coco (Patterdale Terrier, three-years-old)
Coco is a fun, bouncy energetic girl who is looking for an active family that will keep up with her busy lifestyle. She will need to be the only pooch in the home while her doggy social skills are worked on and her new family will be encouraged to do so. She can live with older teens who are aged 16 and above. Adopters will need to visit Coco a couple of times before taking her home where she will be ok to be left for a few hours once settled. Photo: Dogs Trust Darlington
6. Petunia (French Bulldog, five-years-old)
Petunia would love to go to a home, where she’ll be treated like a princess. She would like you to be around for most of the day during her settle in period. Petunia may have accidents in her new environment, as she has had rather a lot of change in recent weeks. Found straying, being looked after in the stray pound and then into kennels and foster life, this could be overwhelming for the little poppet. A secure garden to ensure she gets enough toilet opportunities is essential. She travels well, walks nice on lead and harness, has been walked with other dogs, with no concerns. 7. Georgia (German Shepherd, two-years-old)
Georgia is a beautiful 2yr old German Shepherd who was found as a stray. She is full of training potential, but struggles to keep her paws on the floor so she will need to be the only pet in an adult only home for now. To give her the best chance of settling, she will need a secure garden with no dogs living immediately next door. 8. Rupert (Lurcher Cross, five-months-old)
Rupert is an adorable 5 month old Lurcher. He came to us with a fractured back leg. He has had this operated on and has recovered well so he's is now ready to find his forever home. His recover has left him with an abundance of energy so he struggles to keep his paws on the floor! To give him the best chance of settling and smashing his basic training he'll need to be the only pet in an adult only home. House training is still a work-in-progress and an enclosed garden will be needed for this. He will need his new adopters around initially to help him adjust to his new surroundings and then he could be left on his own for a few hours, but this will need to be introduced slowly.
