Christmas is right around the corner so here are some of the Dogs Trust dogs searching for a home just in time.

The dogs are looking across the North and North East for a family from centres such as Darlington, Leeds and Cumbria.

But remember, a dog is forever and not just for Christmas.

Here are the 13 of the gorgeous pups in need of a home.

Bow is a lovely 5-year-old Shar Pei who will need a family that will be around for her to help her settle into her new home and gradually increase any time spent alone in a pawsitive way. She will happily go for potters with quiet dogs but would prefer to be the only pampered pooch in the home to soak up all the attention for herself. Bow can live with secondary school aged children who are aged 14+ who will give Bow the time and patience she needs to settle in to her new environment. Adopters will need to visit Bow at the centre a few times before taking her home.

When he's not playing with his pal, food is Heath's favourite thing to hunt for and he isn't shy about watching his foster carer at meal times. She's gentle when taking treats and would like to add a few more tricks to her repertoire. Smurf has hip dysplasia and luxating patella so is starting hydro therapy at the centre to help build up muscle to support her joints. Her new adopter if local to the centre can bring her for sessions here at the centre or if further a field find their own hydrotherapy centre closer to home. She is not on any medications at present but may need some in the future, her new family are welcome to chat with our vet team regarding her medical requirements.
