Girls Aloud were formed in 2002, as part of the music competition reality show, Popstars: The Rivals. As part of the show, the girls competed against the boyband formed on the show, One True Voice for the Christmas Number One of that year.

Following their successful debut single (Sound of the Underground), Girls Aloud enjoyed an incredibly successful career, with four number one hits and two number one albums.

The group disbanded in 2009, before briefly reuniting for their 10 year anniversary in 2012.

Following the death of Girls Aloud member Sarah Harding in 2021, her fellow bandmates decided to come back in 2023, to honour Sarah and celebrate the music they created together.
