Newcastle Quayside bar and restaurant Chart House is set to re-open after a dramatic refurbishment that pays homage to its Grade II listed building's rich history.
The establishment in the city centre is housed in one of the few Quayside buildings to survive the 1854 Great Fire of Newcastle and Gateshead and was once home to well-known ocean mapper Matthew S Dodds.
Not only does the new Chart House interior acknowledge its history with grand map murals and images, but its menu is inspired by the Maritime Spice Route.
Inside, plush seating by the bar makes for what is sure to become a cocktail hotspot, whilst the top floor boasts some more formal dining tables with views over the Quayside.
The bar's cocktail menu is unique with far-flung liqueurs and hand-infused spirits, all curated just for Chart House.
A luxurious food menu also includes spice influences and looks like the perfect place for a romantic date or somewhere to impress the parents.
Chart House opens to the public on Wednesday, September 7 but NewcastleWorld went down a day early for an exclusive early look.
