There's a new kid on the block in Newcastle as Four Quarters prepares to open its doors to the Geordie gaming public this weekend.
The underground arcade on Dean Street will feature all the retro classic games from Pac-Man to pinball and Mario Kart to Guitar Hero, and also serve up themed cocktails and craft beers.
With its mix of activities and drinks, Four Quarters looks set to become a hotspot for post-work drinks, office parties and nights out with friends - and a viable sober outing for those not too keen on the booze, with plenty to keep you busy away from the bar.
Four Quarters co-founder Francois Kitching said: "We're immensely proud to be opening our latest Four Quarters location in my hometown and on a street that has been important to me for as long as I can remember. Dean Street was part of my old stomping grounds, where rave culture record stores carried me through my formative years.
"While the opening has been a long and involved process, we have worked closely with all of the city's stakeholders to make sure that everyone is happy, especially our future Four Quarters community. We love Newcastle and I've missed the city, so we couldn't be more excited to bring Four Quarters arcade bar to the toon!"
Ahead of the big opening, NewcastleWorld went down for a nosey and to dust off the old arcade skills. Here's what we found at Four Quarters as an early preview for any intrigued Geordies.
