Forget Greggs’ Christmas Bake - gobble up these independent Newcastle delights
The Greggs Christmas Bake is as synonymous with the festive period on Tyneside as the Fenwick Christmas Window or Northumberland Street Christmas Market.
The Newcastle-based bakery chain's Festive Bake and other Christmas products are always a hit at this time of year, with hungry customers wanting to embrace the holiday spirit.

Hide AdGreggs announced this year's Festive Bake, which has been making an appearance in stores ever since 2009, in October.
This year the meaty treat is also joined by a vegan version.
However, Christmas treats in Newcastle don't all have to come from the baking juggernaut - there are some tasty treats at independent shops as well.
Over at Pink Lane, the Christmas menu of baked goods can be bought in-store and online.
