Gateshead’s Raval Restaurant thank community following ARTA win

The multi-award winning restaurant won yet another accolade for their services to the British Indian curry industry.

An Indian fusion restaurant located on the Gateshead side of the Tyne Bridge, is the proud winner of an Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA).

Raval Indian Restaurant and Bar were named the Best Indian Restaurant of the Year within the North East category at the coveted awards, at a ceremony held in Hilton Park Lane in London.

This is the second win for Raval Restaurant this year, as they also picked up Best Asian Fine-Dining Restaurant Outside London in July of 2023.

The ARTA 2023, showcased and recognised the best of Asian food cuisine across the UK, and was hosted by BBC presenters Samantha Simmonds and Paul Scully.

In attendance were the UK’s culinary elite, distinguished MPs, dignitaries and celebrities, with notable attendance from the former Minister for Europe Keith Vaz.

While celebrating individual restaurants, the event also recognised the British Indian curry industry’s pivotal role in culture and economy.

A spokesperson for Raval Restaurant explained: “Our recent accolade isn’t just a nod to our excellence but a celebration of the entire industry and the beloved British curry tradition.
