Go North East and National Trust teaming up for free travel to sites this summer

Families can make the trip for free over the coming months.

Between May and September free buses are set to run between Newcastle English Heritage and National Trust sites in Northumberland.

Go North East's X75 connects Newcastle City Centre with Belsay Hall, Bolam Lake and Wallington. The service will run every Saturday from May 4 until September 7 this year, starting at Haymarket bus station in Newcastle city centre.

The bus is free to all visitors heading to Belsay Hall and Wallington as the service is running in partnership with English Heritage and the National Trust. Visitors to Wallington and Belsay Hall will also get a 20% discount on entry.

There are four departures per day on Saturdays this summer, with the first bus leaving Newcastle at 9:30am and the last returning from Wallington at 5pm.

The 13,500 estate can be found near Morpeth in Northumberland and includes a nature renewal project with the National Trust.
