A giant cow will fly across the Quayside skyline in Newcastle this Friday.

Yes, you heard right. The 'steaks' will be high as the large cow shoots across the River Tyne on Friday.

Adrenaline junkies are being given the chance to launch themselves off the Tyne Bridge on a zip wire later this month as part of NE1's Summer in the City programme.

Two people doing exactly are Sarah Pike and Sophie Coates, who are representing Tomahawk Steakhouse in raising money for the Great North Childrens Hospital you can sponsor here.

Sarah said: “With Tomahawk being based at the foot of the NE1 Summer In The City Jelly Legs zip line, it’s a no-brainer that we should participate in our fantastic City of Newcastle events, and what better way than to support such a fantastic charity right here in NE1.

"We are hoping to raise £1000 that can go towards the life-saving work the hospital does for our poorly little ones and their families, keeping life as normal as possible whilst under the care of the truly amazing teams at Great North Children’s Hospital.

"Every penny and pound really does count towards our goal and we really appreciate everyone’s support for this wonderful charity.”

What makes the Tomahawk staff's attempt a little wackier is that they will follow a lifesize model cow, that famously stands outside the restaurant, which is being sent down first.

The Tomahawk team will be first down the zip line on Friday, taking on the wire at 9 am.

So, don't worry if you spot a flying cow across the Quayside this Friday - it's just another day on Tyneside!
