It’s been a few weeks since Newcastle United’s partnership with Adidas was officially announced and the buzz that initially took over the city had died down.

Gone were the iconic stripes that appeared on the side of The Strawberry and Percy Street and, after being teased with a Sam Fender and Bruno Guimaraes promo video, it all seemed to fall away as fans concentrated on the ongoing season.

However, it seems Adidas aren’t just going to fade away until next season’s kit announcement.

Yesterday, a fan spotted a new mural being painted on the side of the same Percy Street/Morden Street building which housed one of the Adidas logos. Instead, this time, there’s a slight twist.

The artwork is still in its early stages. However, it’s obvious North Shields musician Sam Fender is being painted alongside an Adidas Gazelle trainer.

Whether this means we’re not too far away from the Fender and Guimaraes content or not, one thing is for certain: Adidas is hell bent on leaving its mark on Newcastle. Even if we’ve still got a season to wait for it to fully infiltrate the football club.
