Charlotte House in Newcastle is going under the hammer at the start of November.

A mammoth block of student hall flats, called Charlotte House, in the heart of Newcastle, has been listed for sale on Rightmove.

The private student halls have 109 bedrooms and are found on Fenkle Street in Newcastle, which couldn't be much more central. The halls are above Kaspa's dessert parlour and William Hill, just opposite the new NX Newcastle which has taken over the old O2 Academy. It’s less than a five minute walk to central station.

The halls are a popular choice for students, with all rooms currently sold out for the academic year, no doubt thanks to its proximity to both Newcastle University and Northumbria University. For any landlord who can meet the £1,650,000 asking price for the block, it could prove quite a lucrative investment.

According to the Charlotte House website, the cheapest room a student can choose in the block costs £75 per week. That'll get you a small single room of eight square metres with a desk. Those come in flats of between three to six people with shared bathroom facilities.

There are several options for rooms and at the other end of the price range is a premium single room. Students living in these rooms get over 12.5 square metres of space with a single bed and desk for £99 per week. Bathrooms and living spaces are shared.

Charlotte House was listed for sale on Rightmove on Thursday, October 14 with Allsop to be auctioned on Thursday, November 3.

The building includes 13 secure parking spaces, bike storage and a communal laundry room. You can view the Rightmove listing here.
