Each year for her birthday, Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall hosts an extravagant fancy dress party, with a different theme each time.
Jade’s birthday is on Boxing Day, when she usually returns home to South Shields, to take part in a charity dip in the sea for Cancer Connections. Jade usually celebrates with pals in London a week early.
In previous years Jade has dressed as Diana Ross and Whitney Houston’s character Rachel Marron from the 1992 movie, The Bodyguard.
This year however, the theme was iconic red carpet or music video looks. The party was named The JMAs, and fellow celebrities, long-time friends and family members attended in fancy dress, ready to celebrate Jade’s 30th birthday with her.
Jade’s fancy dress costume was by far the most jaw-dropping, as she took inspiration from American rapper Lil Kim, who wore the outfit to the MTV VMAs red carpet in 1999. Jade looked absolutely stunning as she donned a purple wig teamed with a sparkling purple jumpsuit.
What caught everyone’s attention though, was that Jade was brave enough to completely pay homage to the original, by also leaving one breast out, with only a seashell shaped nipple pastie to cover her.
In an Instagram post revealing the fancy dress costume, celebrity friends and fans of the South Shields born star took to the comments to share their admiration at the bravery of the shocking outfit. Fellow Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock wrote: “KILLEDDD IT” alongside three fire emojis. While a fan from Newcastle wrote: “U MAKE ME SO PROUD TO BE A GEORDIE.”
Celebrity guests who attended the birthday bash included Jade’s boyfriend Jordan Stephens who dressed as Jade in the Sweet Melody video, TikTok star Max Balegde who dressed as Sharpay Evans from High School Musical, MNEK who dressed as Freddie Mercury in Queen’s I Want To Break Free music video and many more!
Leigh-Anne was also there to celebrate with Jade, dressed as the iconic Jennifer Lopez red carpet look, wearing a dress inspired by J-Lo’s green Versace number.
The event had drag queen performances, a DJ set and food from Nando’s for all of the guests to enjoy.
