Manahatta Newcastle: Delicious food and drink and impeccable service

Manahatta Newcastle - the brand-new bar and restaurant located on Collingwood Street, is for sure going to be the new ‘place to be’.

I visited the New York City inspired venue yesterday for dinner with my boyfriend, and thoroughly enjoyed myself, from the service provided to the delicious food - there is nothing to fault about Manahatta - which is sure to become a frontrunner in Newcastle’s food and drink industry.

Before we get into the details of the incredible food and drink on offer, I would like to first of all say that the atmosphere of the venue is excellent.

This is primarily down to the way the space has been designed, with neon signs, an amazing large bar with plenty of drink options to choose from and comfortable and elegantly designed seating.

The way that the venue presents itself definitely transports you to a trendy space you would find in New York City, where customers can enjoy a meal for date night or later on enjoy a dance and drink with friends.

The customer service is impeccable also, as myself and my partner truly felt we were taken care of by our server Basil, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.

I must applaud Manahatta for offering a great selection of food and drinks to suit all tastes, but at surprisingly affordable prices.

From Sunday to Friday, Manahatta offers two for one on their cocktails, so I decided to give the cocktail Queen of Hearts a try, which went down an absolute treat.

For food, I ordered salt and pepper squid with Aioli, while my boyfriend ordered halloumi fries. Both starters were gorgeous, and quite filling.

For our main meals we were certainly happy with what was provided, I chose Steak Frites while my boyfriend ordered the Manahatta Chicken. 

Both dishes were beautifully presented, and tasted gorgeous. As a steak lover, I was apprehensive about choosing the Steak Frites due to rump steak being the meat provided, which I am not a fan of usually, however it was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful.

Manahatta Newcastle will certainly be a venue I will return to again, with excellent food and drink options which are absolutely delightful, a fantastically decorated space and welcoming, friendly staff.
