Joe Willock has put out a hilarious social media request, appealing to Geordies for their help.

The 24-year-old has just arrived back from Spain where he stepped up his recovery from an Achilles injury. And it’s been a long slog for the footballer, having been out-of-action since May after he sustained a hamstring injury during the penultimate home game of the 2022-23 campaign.

The former Arsenal man was initially due to return in pre-season but suffered a setback. United hoped to have him available after the September international break but Eddie Howe revealed after Brighton & Hove Albion last time out he had suffered a new injury.

But despite all of this, Willock’s spirit seems to be in a good place. He’s regularly posting updates and motivational messages to his Instagram, hinting he’s working incredibly hard to get back to full fitness.

The update he posted yesterday, however, is a departure from that.

‘My guy needs a fade,’ Willock wrote on Instagram alongside an adorable video of his dog. ‘Any dog groomers in Newcastle hit me up!!!’

It’s not the first time Willock’s dog has made an appearance on his social media. In fact, earlier in the year the footballer shared an incredible photo of him out to dinner with his pup.

It seems they have a loving and close bond. So much so he’s after the best fade money can buy.
