Newcastle Falcons and rail operator Lumo reveal partnership for the 2023-24 season

Rail operator Lumo and Newcastle Falcons have joined forces for the 2023-24 season, which will see the Newcastle-based train company become a sponsor in the stadium.

The deal will also see Lumo feature in the Falcons’ pre and post-match video review and across its offiical social media channels.

Alongside sponsorship, the two organisations will also look to work on sustainability and community support within the local area.

Martijn Gilbert, managing director at Lumo, has expressed his pride in being able to partner with the Premiership Rugby team.

He said: “The Falcons have strong ties to the Newcastle community, and we’re privileged to be partnering with an organisation that represents like-minded values.

“This partnership not only strengthens our commitment to the local community but also underscores the importance of sustainability, innovation, and community engagement in our shared vision for a brighter future in the North East.”

Rebecca Thompson, senior commercial manager at Newcastle Falcons, has highlighted that the club’s beliefs align with those of Lumo.

She commented: “It’s fantastic to welcome Lumo to the Falcons’ team as our latest sponsor.

“As a proud North East company committed to making a positive impact in our region we are very much aligned, and we look forward to showcasing them at our stadium in our upcoming games.”

Planning is starting to develop between the Newcastle Falcons and Lumo so both the tesm and fans can travel easily to games in London.

Lumo has also extended its support to Newcastle Falcons’ official charity, Newcastle Rugby Foundation.

Backing from the rail operator has allowed the charity’s programme participants, volunteers, and staff to travel on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Premiership Rugby Parliamentary Community Awards at the House of Commons in the summer.
