Newcastle set to host a Festival of Guinness for the 2025 St Patrick’s Day weekend

A Festival of Guinness is coming to Newcastle city centre.

Having already confirmed the return of Paddy Fest to Newcastle’s Times Square at the end of last month, organisers have now revealed there will an extra dimension to the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Running from March 13 to March 17, Paddy Fest will be full of St Patrick’s themed events - with the festival also turning into a fanzone on Sunday, March 16, when Newcastle United take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

EVNT Inspirations, the organisers of Paddy Fest, have now revealed that a Festival of Guinness will be coming to Newcastle on the day before the final.

The Saturday (March 15) will be dedicated to the iconic Irish stout, with visitors getting the opportunity to “split the G” and take part in the ‘Great St Patrick’s Day hat throw’ - as well as a programme packed with live music, DJs and classic Irish anthems.

The Six Nations, which also falls on the same day, will be shown on large screens across the event.

The Festival of Guinness is part of a packed five days of entertainment at Times Square, which will kick off with Let’s Play Darts XL on Thursday, March 13.

This will then be followed by “Flight Night” on Friday, March 14 - an evening which will feature North East darts pros battling it out for a £1,000 cash prize.

There will then be a massive St Patrick’s Day celebration on March 16 following the end of the Carabao Cup final event.

Mike Hesketh, one of the directors of EVNT Inspirations, has promised that Paddy Fest 2024 will be one to remember.

He commented: “This is going to be one of the most memorable Paddy Fest’s the city has ever seen.

“We’ve got an amazing line up of entertainment and experiences and now being able to add the Festival of Guinness into the mix is something else to look forward to.

“This is the seventh time we’ve organised Paddy Fest and we are very proud of the fact this is shaping up to be the best one yet.”
